Last night Fused attended the opening of Brilliantly Birmingham at the Birmingham City University School of Jewellery for the showcase of FLUX - a selling exhibition of the best new and emerging contemporary designer makers.
As a unique celebration of Birmingham’s renowned reputation for jewellery design and production the event offers the public a unique opportunity to purchase innovative, yet affordable, contemporary jewellery, directly from those who designed and made them.
Our pick is Heidi Daish’s handmade textile pieces which use geometric shapes to make gorgeous broaches. Suzanne Smith’s pretty flower necklaces made with silver and hand dyed vintage lace. Anthony Roussel’s intricate wood and metal pieces.
There are events happening all over the city throughout November and December so take a look at www.brilliantlybirmingham.com for more information. You can also download a catalogue and guide from there for more information on the people taking part.
