Fused had a busy old year in 2007 so here is a little run down of all the highlights – we wouldn’t want to bore you with ALL the details…
In January we knew we had a hectic few months to come so to get ourselves prepared we took a little break and headed over to NYC to get a bit of culture America style. (Trailer Trash Bar, Chelsea, NYC)

During Feb we planned like crazy for our first art market ‘LTD Edition‘ which was a fringe event to coincide with New Art Birmingham. Loads of artists took part and sold their art (along with cakes, monsters, tea and other strange things) to the wonderful visitors that came along.
As part of the event we also put on an exhibition of illustrated images called ‘WASTED YOUTH’ at Epic Skate Park in Moseley. The exhibition featured the work of:
Airside – London
Paulo Arraiano – Portugal
Jon Burgerman – Nottingham
DGPH – Argentina
Catalina Estrada – Barcelona
Jeremyville – Sydney
Newtasty – Birmingham
Niark 1 – Paris

If that wasn’t enough we also launched a special edition New Art Birmingham magazine to go with the event.

This cover seen us use the work of Catalina Estrada.
In April issue 31 of Fused was launched which featured: CSS / Blood Arm / Brett Anderson / Bat for Lashes / The Aliens / Deluka / The Films / Long Blondes / Niyi / The Twang / Kaiser Chiefs / Calvin Harris / Electric Soft Parade / Maximo Park.

During April we were a media sponsor for the Fierce Festival for its 10th Anniversary and during July we won a special award at the Creative City Awards in Birmingham. (Co-founders of Fused Kerry Thomas and David O’Coy pictured with Carol Alderson of Birmingham City Council’s Creative City Team).

During August issue 32 hit the shelves and featured Daft Punk on the cover and contained interviews with: Daft Punk / The Bravery / GoodBooks / Ali Love / Chromeo / China Now / Liars / Maya Wild / Kate Pemberton / Trost / Be Rude / Punks Jump Up / Steve Schofield / Polly Morgan / Hadouken

October was an especially busy month in Fused’s year. We were media partner of Matt Price’s Binary Oppositions events in Birmingham and Milan.

We went to celebrate Mr Jack Daniel’s Birthday in Nashville Tennessee with Juliette Lewis and Patti Smith.

We launched our new title BLINK Magazine at the Plus Expo.

We launched issue 33 of Fused Magazine featuring: Siouxsie Sioux / Hot Hot Heat / The Gossip / PJ Harvey / The Hives / Paul Hartnett / James Murphy / Chris Bourke / Them Lot / Pram / Mice Parade
During November Ben Sherman asked us to organise a party to launch their new flagship store in Birmingham’s Bullring. So we asked Terry Hall (The Specials) to help us.

Beginning of December the final issue of Fused (issue 34) for 2007 hit the streets. Our 3rd Calendar issue featuring some of the hottest illustration talent from around the world.

Phew what a year. So what for 2008? Well we haven’t quite decided yet but as soon as we know – we’ll tell you. x
