Brilliantly Birmingham

Last night Fused attended the opening of Brilliantly Birmingham at the Birmingham City University School of Jewellery for the showcase of FLUX –  a selling exhibition of the best new and emerging contemporary designer makers.

As a unique celebration of Birmingham’s renowned reputation for jewellery design and production the event offers the public a unique opportunity to purchase innovative, yet affordable, contemporary jewellery, directly from those who designed and made them.

Our pick is Heidi Daish’s handmade textile pieces which use geometric shapes to make gorgeous broaches. Suzanne Smith’s pretty flower necklaces made with silver and hand dyed vintage lace. Anthony Roussel’s  intricate wood and metal pieces.

There are events happening all over the city throughout November and December so take a look at for more information. You can also download a catalogue and guide from there for more information on the people taking part.

Ben Sherman Launch Party

We have been so busy that I forget to put up these great images by Steve Gerrard of the new Ben Sherman store launch party in Birmingham.

The new store opened earlier in the month and to celebrate we were asked to help with the launch. So we asked Mr Terry Hall (The Specials, Fun Boy 3) and the Bang Bang DJ’s to help get us in the mood. Throw in lots of bottles of Corona and a goody bag and we had ourselves a little shindig.

Thank you to all the very stylish people that turned up looking very smart indeed. And thanks to Chicks Dig Jerks who played some cracking music at the ‘unofficial’ after party at Island Bar.

A bespoke Gibson

As you know we are hosting the party at the new Ben Sherman store in Birmingham’s Bullring on Wednesday evening but if you aren’t able to come along make sure you pop in to the store to take a look at the highly collectible and very beautiful customised Gibson guitar.

It is currently up for auction on the Ben Sherman site  and other guitars on display at other Ben Sherman stores have so far fetched thousands of pounds.
